Vandalism-Reistant Pride Stickers
An Unfortunate Necessity
These stickers were inspired by a real event, where a professor I know had a
transgender pride sticker removed from her office door and was seeking something
which would be more resilient to bigoted vandals. This is my attempt at a
sticker as resilient as we are.
The sticker material is very thin, and breaks easily - which may seem like a strange choice for a sticker intended to be resilient. But just like softness and joy in the face of violence and oppression, somehow it works - once the sticker is on, it form-fits to its backing, and if someone tries to remove it, it flakes off in tiny pieces. This means that to quick or casual attempts to remove it, the design just becomes a little rough around the edges, perhaps a bit visibly spread thin by its evironment.

Instructions
While these stickers should stick to most materials, durability will vary by application surface and conditions. For best results, make sure the surface is as clean as possible before applying the sticker and apply firm, even pressure across the surface of the sticker to ensure it conforms to the surface as much as possible. Uneven surfaces make the sticker more difficult to scrape off. Extremely rough surfaces, such as the tree bark shown here (note that application to trees is not recommended), may result in difficulty getting the sticker to properly adhere.
Because these stickers are quite difficult to remove, be certain you have permission from appropriate property owners when applying these stickers, and be confident in your choice of location before removing the sticker from the backing. Stickers may crack or separate if pulled during application or when applied to a particularly uneven surface as shown in photos here.
Wear and Age
As the sticker weathers it will become even more brittle and likely to
flake away. Some separation from the backing surface may occur, especially
on extremely uneven materials, or if insufficient pressure is used during
application. This results in a wear pattern that shows around the edges and
small holes as shown here:
This results in a resilience to wear and casual attempts at removal. However, concerted effort will still be able to remove the sticker. We have had test samples (shown in photos on this page) outside in harsh Colorado weather for several months and have yet to see significant fading or separation despite unforgiving backing such as stone and wood.

Note that the first batch of the progress pride flag sticker is misprinted: the horizonal stripes continue through the black triangle, also visible in the image above. This is primarily visible from close up; the design appears more as intended from a distance. These stickers will be sold at a discount due to this error.
